Pacific Poker Brings The Second 888.com UK Open
There can be no doubt that poker is a worldwide phenomenon. All one has to do is look at the success of the European Poker Tour, the Monte Carlo Millions and the Crown Australian Poker Championships to see that there is great poker being played outside of the borders of the United States. When you add in the number of great foreign players, including Marcel Luske, Humberto Brenes and any of the Hendon Mob, it is also plainly evident that to be a successful poker player does not mean you have to be an American citizen.
Recognizing the worldwide nature of the game, Pacific Poker, along with Matchroom Sports, wants to send players to participate in Pacific Poker's parent company's highest profile tournament, the second 888.com UK Open, coming up from October 11th through October 24th. The highlight of the fortnight of poker will be the over $1 million (actually $1.08 million) Main Event, a $10,000 buy in event where the champion will take down a cool $500,000. Your chance to get in on the big game in London starts now!
Pacific Poker has started a great satellite tournament system to allow you to win your way to the event in October. Up for grabs in the $100 + $10 buy in satellites will be the buy in and $2,500 for travel to be able to take part in the televised Main Event. The satellites will be held on Saturdays beginning at 2PM in the afternoon and the structures are well built to allow for some excellent play. Players will start off with 1,500 in chips and the blinds will escalate every fifteen minutes.
If you can't work up the bankroll to make your play in the main satellite, you can work your way in through two other ways. There will be daily freerolls that will allow you to win your seat in the Saturday satellite, plus there will be other qualifiers run that start as low as $5 + $.50. In all, it is an excellent way to get in to one of the premiere televised poker events in Europe!
