Poker Blue Opens The Door To The "Whale Game"
One of the fastest growing poker rooms online has to be the newcomer PokerBlue. First noticed with their launch at this year's World Series, where many players were wearing the powder blue shirts that garnered much attention, PokerBlue has continued from there to expand their base in the online world. Now PokerBlue is drawing even more attention by stepping further into the poker community and sponsoring a live event broadcast on the Internet.
PokerBlue announced this week that it is teaming up with the highly successful "Live At The Bike" Internet poker broadcast to show a seldom seen part of the poker world. While "Live At The Bike", which broadcasts on Wednesdays through Saturdays from 6-10PM (Pacific Time), has been able to draw a strong following, it should only get stronger with the alliance with PokerBlue as they team up to bring to the poker community the "Whale Game" on Wednesday nights.

Normally when these people play, it is in the security and the anonymity of a private home, estate or a secluded backroom in a casino. With the "Whale Game", PokerBlue is pulling back the veil on the secrecy surrounding these games.

The "Whale Game" premiere will feature several prominent names from the poker, entertainment and sports world. Joining Nakano and fellow PokerBlue ambassador Frank Hong (another prominent high stakes player) will be Dr. Jerry Buss, the owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, actor/poker player Gabe Kaplan (fresh from a near miss at a bracelet at this year's World Series), 2005 World Poker Tour Champion Tuan Le and two players who displayed great poker skills at this year's World Series of Poker Main Event, Tim Phan (who finished 24th in the event) and Shawn Sheikhan, who barely missed the Final Table of the Main Event with his 11th place finish. The eighth player will be left as an "unknown" until the airing of the broadcast.
The poker played will not be for the weak of heart or skill, either. The buy-in to come to the "Whale Game" will be $10,000 and the game is high limit $400-$800 Hold 'Em. Action at the Bicycle Club in Bell Gardens, CA should be fast paced and the pots should be stoked full of intensity and chips as swings of thousands of dollars can take place in one hand.
