The Top 5 Reasons to Qualify for the Aussie Millions
Melbourne, Australia is 8,156 miles from Las Vegas. Taking a trip down under is a huge commitment and the price of airfare alone makes it too expensive a proposition for most of us. So, what if we told you it was possible to win your way there for only a few bucks and youll get to play in the richest poker tournament in the Southern Hemisphere? Is that something youd be interested in? The journey to Australia may be a long one but take it from those of us who have been there its definitely one worth making. To convince you even further, here are our top five reasons you should qualify for the Aussie Millions.
5. It is easier than ever to win your seat online
Both Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars are running satellites to the Aussie Millions right now. On Stars they start at $16 or 500 FPPs while on Full Tilt the buy-ins are even lower, beginning at $0.50 or 50 Full Tilt Points. Subsatellites run nearly every day while the larger $530 satellites run on Saturdays at 10 p.m. EST on both sites. For players outside the U.S., Party Poker is also running Aussie Millions satellites. Twenty-five seats are still up for grabs in Partys weekly $640 satellites that run on Sundays at 2:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. EST.
4. Two weeks full of events
Including the $10,500 Main Event, the Crown will spread 20 total events at the 2010 Aussie Millions including a $10,500 H.O.R.S.E. tournament, a $5,300 Heads-Up Championship, and a $100,000 No-Limit Hold'em event. However, the Aussie Millions isn't just for high rollers. There are $550 or $1,100 buy-in events scheduled each day, including a four-day $1,100 NLHE opening event. Love pot-limit Omaha? No problem, there are four pot-limit Omaha events including one ot-limit Omaha-8-or-better tournament and one that is half-no-limit hold'em/half ot-limit Omaha. More of a limit player? There are both limit hold'em and limit stud events on the docket.
3. Look, Mom! I'm on TV!
Have you ever dreamed of actually showing your cards to one of those little hole cameras rather than just watching the action unfold on TV? The Aussie Millions might be the tournament where those dreams become a reality. The Aussie Millions will be taped for Fox Sports Net and broadcast around the world in early 2010. Even if you dont make the final table, you still have a chance to get some camera time because a featured table of players will be filmed each day.
2. The Crown Casino
The Crown is like no other casino environment youve ever experienced. Home to two world-class hotels, dozens of dining options, and an indoor shopping center, if youre anything like us, youll never want to leave the Crown.
