WCOOP Day 1: Alexander "AlexKP" Petersen, David "CrabMaki" Shallow, and Jo?o "joao bauer" Divino Dorneles Neto Win Bracelets
The 2010 World Championship of Online Poker at PokerStars kicked off with a bang on Sunday, with each event coming to end on Monday. Three events were on the schedule, all offering huge pay days. When all was said and done, three new WCOOP champions were crowned.
The $200 No-Limit Holdem Six-Max kicked things off for the 2010 WCOOP at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday. The tournament came to an end over 18 hours later with Alexander "AlexKP" Petersen emerging victorious. A key hand to Petersen's victory happened with three players remaining. After facing a four-bet jam from Stephen "stevie444" Chidwick, Petersen called with A?K? and had Chidwick's A?10? needing help. The flop fell A?10?5? to put Chidwick ahead and in great shape to double up. The 4? kept things that way, but the K? hit the river to eliminate Chidwick and give Petersen a sizable chip lead en route to his victory.

Though it wasn't first to start, Event 2, the $10,000 No-Limit Holdem High Roller, was the first to finish. Plenty of pros came out in full-force for this one and in the end, David "CrabMaki" Shallow defeated PokerStars Team Pro Ville Wahlbeck to capture the title. On the final hand, Shallow's button-raise was called by Wahlbeck in the big blind. The flop came down A?6?5?, with Wahlbeck check-calling a bet. It was the same story with the 8? turn card and when the 2? hit the river, Wahlbeck checked for a third time. Shallow went all in, putting Wahlbeck to a decision for his tournament life. After a few moments Wahlbeck called with A?2?, but it was second best to Shallow's K?9?.

Just after 12:30 p.m. on the East Coast on Monday, the $200 No-Limit Holdem reached its conclusion after 19 hours elapsed from its start. The final table was filled with talented players from all over the world, but in the end it was Brazil's Jo?o "joao bauer" Divino Dorneles Neto besting Portugal's Carlos "cmpjo" Oliveira for the WCOOP bracelet. With five players left Neto was the short stack, but found a little luck for a huge double through Oliveira. Under the gun, Oliveira raised and Neto went all in for about 20 big blinds from the big blind. Oliveira called with A?K? and had Neto's A?Q? crushed. However, the board ran out Q?3?3?5?6? and Neto secured the double up to pave his way to victory.
