The action at the high-stakes tables on Full Tilt Poker this past week lacked the seven-figure daily swings of last week, but that did not mean the action was tame. The chips were certainly flying across the table, mainly from Gus Hansen. Logging the most hands over the last seven days, Hansen was in the red seven figures before making a small comeback back to a six-figure loss. Meanwhile, "DrugsOrMe" locked up the best week while playing under 1,000 hands, nearly nine times less than Hansen.

"DrugsOrMe" and "Ziigmund" Battle

A significant part of DrugsOrMe's excellent week occurred at six-max $200/$400 pot-limit Omaha. A crucial winning hand for DrugsOrMe began when the action was kicked off with a raise to $1,400 by Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies from under the gun. DrugsOrMe popped it to $4,800 from the hijack and action folded to "cadillac1944", who called from the small blind. Di "Urindanger" Dang folded from the big blind and Ziigmund four-bet to $9,600. Not to be outdone, DrugsOrMe five-bet the pot to $34,600. Both opponents called and the flop came down 6?3?2?. With the pot at $104,200, cadillac1944 shoved for $78,867 and was met with an all-in call from Ziigmund and a call from DrugsOrMe. The hands were:

cadillac1944: K?K?Q?5? - Pair of kings with flush draw
Ziigmund: 9?8?5?3? - Pair of threes with straight draw
DrugsOrMe: A?A?Q?8? - Pair of aces

The hand was certainly up for grabs, but the A? turn card swiftly put DrugsOrMe out in front with top set. The 3? river card filled up DrugsOrMe, winning the roughly $307,000 pot.

Ziigmund enjoyed a nice week, as well, up just under $300,000. He and DrugsOrMe played a massive hand at $200/$400 pot-limit Omaha resulting in a pot of about $545,000 that went the Finn's way. Under the gun, Ziigmund raised to $1,400 and was met with with a reraise to $4,800 by DrugsOrMe from the hijack. Action folded back around to Ziigmund and he called, leading to a K?6?5? flop. Ziigmund led out with a pot-sized bet of $10,200 and DrugsOrMe smooth called, resulting in the 4? hitting the turn. Ziigmund fired again, this time for $18,800. DrugsOrMe had enough of calling, opting to raise to $75,600. Ziigmund called and when the 3? hit the river, fired a whopping pot-sized bet of $181,800. DrugsOrMe called, not happy to see Ziigmund table A?8?K?4? for the nut flush to win the huge pot.

Hansen Recovers Slightly From Seven-Figure Loss

The week was not going well for Gus Hansen, down almost $1.2 million after the weekend. A good Monday, however, helped lower the number to under $800,000. Playing $500/$1,000 heads-up capped pot-limit Omaha against Di Urindanger Dang, Hansen enjoyed a nice session winning some key hands. Dang raised to $2,100 on the button and Hansen made it $6,300 to play from the big blind. Dang called and the flop came down 7?7?4?. Hansen led out for the pot of $12,600 and Dang capped it to $33,700. Hansen called with K?K?J?3?, holding a nice lead against Dang's K?10?Q?6?. They ran it twice and Hansen not only dodged a diamond both times, but filled up on the turn. First the 7? hit to lock up the first run, and the second run was over quickly when the K? fell, sending the $80,000 pot to Gus.

Another hand between the two followed with the same preflop action and a flop of 10?7?2?. Hansen bet the $12,600 pot, and once again Dang capped it to $33,700. Hansen called and revealed A?9?8?5? for straight and flush draws while Dang tabled 10?8?6?5? for top par and a lower straight draw. They ran it twice again and Hansen hit the J? immediately on the turn of the first run to make his straight. The 3? river card locked up half the pot for Hansen. The second run landed the 9? on the turn to give Dang a ten-high straight, but the 10? popped off on the river to make a winning flush for Hansen.
