World Series of Poker Circuit Choctaw Day 2: Seiwert Leads, Cloutier and Daughter Hymel Both Cash
Day 2 of the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, saw a field of 175 players whittle its way down to 14. Neal Seiwert is our chip leader with 1.92 million chips. He ascended to the top of the charts near the end of the day after bouncing back from a cooler against Drazen Ilich. Seiwert ran queens into Ilich's aces, but never gave up and now leads the pack entering Day 3. Biting at his heels are Shallum Lynch (1.8 million), Andrew Watson (1.62 million) and Jeff Gibralter (1.53 million). They, too, built stacks before the dinner break and are prepared to wield them tomorrow.
Traci Brown is the last woman standing with 585,000 chips. She wasn't the only female to go deep in this event however, Ruth "Ruthless" Hall, Ashley Cox and TJ Cloutier's daughter Elizabeth Hymel all cashed. Hymel ran a bluff against Watson with just king-high and Watson picked it off with a pair of sixes. Hymel failed to hit a three-outer on the river and was eliminated from the tournament.
Cloutier and fellow Hall of Famer Berry Johnston also cashed. Johnston was battling especially hard until he, too, was eliminated by Watson. It was a race between Johnston's A?K? and Watson's 7?7?. The board ran Q?2?5?Q?6? and Johnston hit the rail.
Other notables who cashed included Lyle Glover, Gus Voelzel and Richard Lee who shared the bubble with three other players.
Lance Freeman was crippled by the sickest hand of the day. At 15,000/30,000/4,000, Joe Bui limped in from late position and Ilich limped behind. Freeman raised to 100,000 from the big blind and Bui back-reraised to 200,000. Ilich got out of the way, Freeman moved all-in for a little less than 500,000 and Bui called. Bui was light-years behind with 4?3? against Freeman's K?K?, but the flop fell A?3?4? giving Bui two-pair. He retained the lead after the turn and river bricked 6?, Q? respectively, leaving Freeman with only 16,000 chips. He busted in 17th place soon after.
