World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Showdown Day 4: Hinkle in Pole Position with 18 Remaining
The World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Showdown is down to 18 players after another day of play took place on Saturday. Leading the way into Day 5 will be Blair Hinkle with 1.783 million in chips.
With 51 players returning to action, only 45 players would make the money. The title of bubble boy inevitably came on Day 4 and honors went to Vinny Pahuja.
According to the WPT Live Update Team, Pahuja was down to his last 10,000 on the button with the blinds at 4,000/8,000 with a 1,000 ante. He was all in and up against three opponents on the flop of 6?4?2?. Timothy T.K. Miles bet the other two players out before turning over 8?8?. Pahuja held J?10?. The turn brought the 5? and the river the 6?. Pahuja was eliminated on the hand in 46th place and the bubble officially burst.
The hand that gave Hinkle the chip lead came in Level 20 with the blinds at 5,000/10,000 with a 1,000 ante. It was the last hand of the level and Miles and Hinkle tangled. Hinkle had a set of sixes on the flop and Miles the nut flush draw. Miles failed to improve and was eliminated in 31st place. Hinkle moved into the lead with this pot at 1.8 million in chips.
A few other players who made the money, but failed to move past Day 4 include Mike Sexton (27th - $31,176), Tyler Kenney (26th - $31,176), Todd Terry (25th - $31,176) and Brent Roberts (21st - $31,176).
Shawn Cunix was the last player eliminated on the day in 19th place before the remaining 18 players bagged and tagged their chips. Cunix jammed the button with the J?6?, but ran into the pocket queens for Nick Avena in the big blind. The board ran out 10?5?2?7?10? and that was the end of the day for Cunix.
