Around the WSOP with Lynn Gilmartin: Week #7
On Thursday, 1,864 of the 6,865 dream-chasers who descended on Las Vegas from 85 nations will return to play out their third day in the 42nd Annual World Series of Poker Main Event. There was much speculation that the WSOP would be affected by Black Friday, and it was in a positive way.
Prize-pool records were broken throughout the 57 preliminary events and in the satellite and deep-stack tournaments that ran daily throughout the Amazon and Pavillion rooms. This year's Main Event was the third-largest of all time. While the Rio was filled with players, the PokerNews video crew continued to pump out more material for our seventh week. Here's a selection of my favorite videos from the past seven days, starting with my No. 1 favorite from the entire WSOP, Brett Richey's rap video about himself at WSOP and the PokerNews team. So much credit goes to Will Thomas, one of our video editors, also known as the genius behind this amazing creation.
This week's Weekly Turbo featured Sarah Grant and me, and we happened to show up in very similar dresses. We decided to take that to the next level while delivering all of last week's winners and highlights.
When Faraz Jaka isn't playing poker, he's building his company Axis Casterboarding. Kristy Arnett paid him a visit to find out what it's all about and of course try it out herself. Although, it didn't quite end the way she wanted it to.
Last, let's finish with a nice "top pair" thanks to Tatjana Pasalic, the new sex-bomb who signed with Bodog. When Sarah Grant put her under the 60-second stopwatch for Calling the Clock, we found out that Pasalic is one cheeky and charming lady.
