Day 5 of the 2011 PokerStars.com European Poker Tour London Poker Festival Main Event wrapped up on Wednesday with the elimination of Adria Balaguer in ninth place. Eight players remain from the original starting field of 691; all are guaranteed at least 64,000 for reaching the final table.

Thanks to the last hand of the day where he busted Balaguer, Martins Adeniya has assumed the pole position heading into Thursday's finale. He finished the day with 4.736 million in chips. Coming in behind him is Mattias Bergstrom with 3.62 million.

To begin the day, 24 players returned to action. Sebastian Blom was the first player eliminated on the day and he was followed out the door by Basile Yaiche in 19th, Joao Barbosa in 17th, Benjamin Jenkins in 13th and James Mitchell in 11th.

Yaiche began the day eighth in chips but lost nearly all of them in an early hand against Bergstrom. After Bergstrom raised to 34,000 with the blinds at 8,000/16,000 with a 2,000 ante, Yaiche reraised from the big blind to 112,000. Bergstrom called and the two saw the paired K?K?3? flop. Yaiche bet 85,000 and Bergstrom called. The turn card was the 10?. Yaiche fired again, this time for 190,000. Bergstrom put in a min-raise to 380,000 and Yaiche called. The river was the 2? and completed a backdoor flush draw. Yaiche checked and Bergstrom bet 400,000. After a minute, Yaiche called holding A?K?. Bergstrom held 10?10? for a full house to better Yaiche's trips and won the pot. A little while later, Yaiche hit the rail when he couldn't win a flip with pocket sevens against Andries Swart's K?Q?.

Barbosa proved to be the last former EPT champion standing for a while, but his run came to an end during Level 24 with the blinds at 12,000/24,000 with a 3,000 ante. He raised all-in for 236,000 before being called by Steve O'Dwyer. Barbosa held two fours and O'Dwyer showed K?J?. The flop, turn and river ran out A?J?3?8?7? and that was all that was needed to send Barbosa to the rail.

Team PokerStars Pro Juan Manuel Pastor will enter the final table sixth in chips with 1.915 million. This is the best EPT finish of his career and he'll be looking to take this one down.

During Level 25 with the blinds at 15,000/30,000 with a 4,000 ante, Pastor checked the J?5?4?9? board before Jeremy Kottler bet 140,000. Balaguer and Andre Klebanov also called before action moved back to Pastor, who hemmed and hawed for a few minutes before finally raising all-in for around one million. Kottler and Balaguer folded, but after a couple minutes in the tank, Klebanov called.

Klebanov: A?9?
Pastor: 4x4x

The river brought the 10? and Pastor let out a giant sigh of relief as he dodged the river to double up and get right back in the thick of things.
