After the events wrapped up on Thursday, making it quite the busy day at the 2012 World Series of Poker, Friday will be a bit slower with only one event on its final day. That event is Event 49: $1,500 Ante-Only No-Limit Hold'em and its the focus of this edition of the PokerNews What To Watch For.

Is This McDonald's Time?

One of the high profiled names in poker that has secured a spot at the final table is that of Mike "Timex" McDonald. McDonald is best known for being the youngest person to ever win a European Poker Tour event. That being said, McDonald is still looking for success in the form of a WSOP gold bracelet.

This event is McDonald's third cash so far at the 2012 WSOP. McDonald's best WSOP finish came last year when he finished 6th place in Event #35: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha / Six Handed. McDonald will be looking to best his sixth place finish and go for the gold on Friday.

Sowers Chases Gold

Mike Sowers was one of the big stacks for the latter part of Day 2 and goes into the final table as second in chips. Sowers has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with and nothing will stand in his way on his quest for his first WSOP bracelet.

Sowers best showing at the WSOP also came last year when he scored a sixth place finish in Event #46: $10,000 No-Limit Holdem / Six Handed Championship. That event netted Sowers $138,301 in prize money. On Friday he'll look to surpass that with the $256,691 offered for first place.

WSOP Rookie Gimbel Makes Final Table

Harrison Gimbel is making his first trip to the WSOP and this is his third cash. THe other two cashes have been small, but this final is setting up to be a big one. Generally, PokerNews doesn't toot its own horn, but Gimbel was featured as one of our rookies in our WSOP Rookie Roundup Series. Gimbel is one of the best young players in the game and we wouldn't be surprised if he captures the gold.

Aljanedi Looking To Mount Comeback

Sameer Aljanedi began Day 2 of this event as the chip lead and managed to battle through a tough field to make the final table. While he has three WSOP cashes under his belt, this will be his first final table. Can he conquer the odds and prove that a Day 2 chip leader can win the bracelet? We'll find out on Friday.
