2013 PokerStars.net ANZPT Queenstown Snowfest: Bryan Huang Takes Lead Into Day 2
The third and final Day 1 flight of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Queenstown Main Event played out on Thursday. There were 47 entrants on Day 1c, but an action-packed day would see that number reduced to 18. Leading the way with 99,425 and the overall chip lead heading into Day 2 is Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang.
It was a huge day at the felt for Huang, who could seemingly do no wrong. Huangs day culminated in a monster hand that saw him eliminate Australias Tim Woods. The hand in question saw Huang eventually six-bet all in from the cutoff after Woods had five-bet from the big blind. Woods called off all his chips and tabled Q?Q?. Huang had Woods dominated with his K?K? and the news only got better for Huang on the 10?K?8? flop. The 9? turn gave Woods some outs to a straight, but a 5? river meant that Huang had scooped the biggest pot of the tournament so far.
Huang has travelled to Queenstown for the ANZPT three times now in his career, and he made the final table in his first two trips. In 2012 Huang finished in seventh and in 2010 he finished in ninth. Now, in 2013, he has made a good start toward reaching a third ANZPT Queenstown final table.
There are plenty of others from Day 1c who will be joining Huang at the felt for Day 2, albeit with not quite as many chips. Some of those include WSOP APAC Event 2 runner-up Edison Nguyen, Keith Walker, [Removed:17], 2012 ANZPT Auckland champion Geoff Smith and the reigning ANZPT Queenstown champion Dave Allan

The eventual champion will take home NZ$93,600 and the top 15 players are guaranteed NZ$5,950. The entries for this year's event are down on the 149 and 127 from the last two years, but up from the 119 in the year before that.

AJ Hackett popularized the extreme sport of bungee jumping right in his home country of New Zealand. During a break from ANZPT Queenstown, our very own Sarah Grant visited one of his sites called The Ledge to try her very first jump.
