Mike Leah Wins Two WSOP Circuit Rings in 24 Hours 0001

For an online poker player to win two poker tournaments on the same day isn't out of the ordinary. In fact, Chris Moorman won three in a 24-hour span earlier this year on three different sites.

For it to happen on the live circuit, though? Virtually unheard of.

But that's exactly what Canadian poker pro Mike Leah accomplished on Friday at the World Series of Poker Circuit at The Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, California. Leah steamrolled Event #9, a $580 No-Limit Hold'em tournament, on Friday afternoon. After claiming victory in that event (and busting out of another tournament a short while later), Leah hopped in Event 11: $365 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo. Less than 13 hours later he won his second WSOP Circuit ring in a single day, and also locked up the title of Casino Champion which comes with a seat to the WSOP Circuit National Championship later this year.

Amazingly, before pulling double-duty on Friday Leah had zero WSOP Circuit rings to his credit.

Leah is off to a scorching start in 2014. The Team Ivey pro has four live tournament victories already this year, including a recent win in the opening event of the World Poker Tour Fallsview Poker Classic for $118,982. That was Leah's second six-figure score of 2014 after he won the $5,000 NL Hold'em Eight-Handed event for $119,770 at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

Leah's victories on Friday weren't as profitable financially, but still very rewarding for the longtime tournament grinder. Here's a look at the final table results:
