European Poker Tour Launches New Fantasy Poker Manager Promo With 5,000 Up For Grabs
The European Poker Tour (EPT) has inked a partnership with the Fantasy Poker Manager that is going to bring the game owned by the Global Poker Index to a whole new new level.
Although the partnership is not going change the way the popular social fantasy poker game works, all non-US resident who draft their teams for the events included in EPT Season 11 will now have the opportunity to race for prizes that include online tickets and packages to live national events.
The new special promotion will start during the 100th EPT stop in Barcelona, where players who will draft the best teams for the Super High Roller Event and the Main Event will compete for a chunk of a 5,000 total prize pool.
According to the competition's official rules, the top five teams that will have earned the highest number of points by the end each event will win prizes.
And while the teams ranked from the fifth to the second position will earn their managers a 100 online ticket each, the winner of each event's leaderboard will be rewarded with a 2,000 package to play at a PokerStars-sponsored national tour of their choice.
Different from the traditional Fantasy Poker Manager games, however, the new EPT-sponsored competition has a special requirement that asks people to include at least one PokerStars Pro in their team in order to qualify for the race.
With the EPT Barcelona right around the corner, you can already build a team to compete for the Super High-Roller event.
Although trading of players is going to be allowed until the start of Day 2, we advise you to be fast at choosing your players - as the value of those with the highest chances to bring you some good points is unavoidably destined to raise very quickly.
Once the teams for the Super High Roller are set, it will then be time to choose the best lineup during the EPT Main Event. Managers will be able to trade players until the start of Day 2, on Saturday, Aug. 23.
If you are not familiar with the concept of fantasy poker, here's how it works. Once you join the (free) game, you are given a million-credit budget that you will use to pick a roster of poker players.
Every time these players finish in the money at one of the live poker events included in the game, you are awarded some points. And obviously the more points you get, the highest is your chance to outrank all the other players and bring home one of the two 2,000 packages up for grabs during the EPT Barcelona.
The Fantasy Poker Manager game is based on a Facebook App that allows you to create your own leagues, challenge friends in one-on-one contests and compete in many special "unofficial" leagues.
