Connection Issues Cost partypoker Players Two Pokerfest Events 0001

Online grinders had a bitter surprise on Sunday, as connectivity problems forced partypoker to cancel some of the top events in its schedule, including two tournaments part of the ongoing Pokerfest series.

"We have taken the decision to cancel all tournaments which are due to start in the next two hours due to the Gibraltar ISP network issues we are currently experiencing," explained the poker room in a statement published on the Two Plus Two poker forum. "This cancellation will affect two Pokerfest events: Event 38 - $75,000 Gtd, and Event 39 - $150,000 Gtd, along with all other guaranteed and non-guaranteed tournaments in our schedule. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused this evening and would like to highlight that we are doing our utmost to ensure a stable network is resumed as soon as possible."

Talks about issues started in the afternoon of Sunday, when numerous players complained about continuous disconnections from the room's client.

Although partypoker initially issued a communication to say that all the issues had been taken care of and that the Sunday's schedule would progress as planned, it did not take long until the disconnections restarted to happen again and forced the poker room to admit that it would not be possible to guarantee a fair and stable access to the client.

As the technical issues that led to the connection problems have now been fixed, the Pokerfest is set to come back on Monday, Oct. 27, with three events with combined prize pools of $40,000.

Each of the three events are no-limit holdem tournaments, but with a slight twist in that they are played to a "triple chance" format, meaning you can rebuy a maximum of twice during the first hour.
