Jason Koon Makes It Another Super Tuesday By Winning LAPC $50K High Roller for $436K
The last two Tuesdays have really paid for Jason Koon. After a lackluster start to 2015, Koon has scored two very impressive wins in one week's time for nearly $550,000 combined both coming on a Tuesday.
Koon's first big win of the year saw him pocket $111,699, thanks to a victory in the PokerStars $1,000 Super Tuesday on Feb. 24, 2015. In that event, Koon topped a tough online field of 591 entries to take the title.
After his win, Koon tweeted out that he was headed to L.A. to "get some live monies."
Well, he did just that to the tune of $436,344 last night.
The World Poker Tour $10,000 Championship Event at the 2015 L.A. Poker Classic wasn't the only event to get overly excited about, as this year's schedule also featured a $50,000 Turbo High Roller 6-Max event. Koon fell short of the money in the Championship Event, but he proved to be the last man standing in the $50,000 Turbo High Roller.
After striking a three-handed deal with JC Tran and Connor Drinan that saw him lock up $406,344, Koon beat out his two opponents for the remaining $30,000 that was left to play for.

The event drew 31 entries and generated a prize pool of $1,534,500. The original top prize was set at $552,410, but the final three players agreed on a deal that saw them each lock up just about second-place money. Some of those to participate, but not make the money were Igor Kurganov, Dan Smith, Dan Shak, Antonio Esfandiari, Mohsin Charania, Mike Sexton, Brian Rast, and JJ Liu.
Liu was eliminated in seventh place, and she was followed out the door by Tom Hall on the bubble. Hall's A?2? couldn't come from behind against the A?K? of Jack Salter.
From there, Tran busted Salter in fifth place and Koon took out Nam Le in fourth place before the deal was made. According to reports, koon then busted Drinan with the A?J? to the A?2?, and then he finished the deal not long after by winning a race with the A?10? against Tran's 4?4?.
Not only was this a quality victory for Koon, but it proved monumental in that it was his largest live score ever and pushed him over $3.1 million in live tournament earnings.
