Just after the last break of the evening, the money bubble burst with Zheng Wang earning the title of bubble boy. It happened when action folded around to Yat Wai Chen, who moved all in from the small blind. Zheng called off his last few big blinds, and he had the best hand with his A?5?, which was out in front of Chens J?3?. However, the flop came down 5?J?J? to give Chen trips, and Zheng was unable to improve. With that, the final 59 players secured themselves at least HK$43,600.
Others who fell during the course of play included Day 1b chip leader Jia Liang, Sparrow Cheung, Yifan Zhang, Sunny Jung, Kenny Leong, Raiden Kan, Takahiro Nakai, Winfred Yu, and Steve O'Dwyer.
ODwyer committed all his chips holding the 8?9? on a A?10?7? flop and was up against an opponents A?J?. Even with all his flush and straight outs. O'Dwyer was unable to find a card he needed and was sent to the rail with nothing more than a min-cash.
Meanwhile, several notable to survive the day included Alex Lee, Nicolas Cardyn, Daniel Lee, Gab Yong Kim, and Day 1a chip leader Zhifeng Yao. Those players and more will return at 2:00 p.m. local time on Saturday.
