New Jersey poker player Paul "StacksGrande" Silva was the Garden State's biggest winner over the weekend, banking $10,800 after being the last man standing in the WSOP.com/888poker NJ Sunday $40,000 Guarantee. The runner-up in this tournament was Jesse "No_Xcape" Elliot, winning a healthy consolation prize of $6,300.
The event provided great value to every player who made it past the money bubble with an $8,365 overlay. The tournament failed to meet the $40,000 prize pool guarantee as it attracted only 171 players.
Louis "PartyVisionz" Galantino also had a big day, shipping the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com $50,000 Guarantee for an even $10,000. New Jersey's "MistaMenza" took second place in this tournament for $6,585. This tournament barely missed meeting its guarantee with 268 players entering, creating a small $420 overlay.
Meanwhile on 888poker NJ, it was "Iron_Lung" beating out a field of 39 players to win the Big Sunday for $3,500. The six players that cashed this tournament all benefited from the small field creating a sizable $2,785 overlay.
In other news, Anthony Maio quietly piled up three final table appearances in big online tournaments on Sunday. Maio won $3,600 with a third-place finish in the WSOP.com/888poker NJ Sunday $40,000 Guarantee where he plays under the screenname "flawlessbink", won $2,350 with a seventh-place finish in the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com $50,000 Guarantee where he plays under the screenname "Flawlessbink", and won $900 with a fifth-place finish in the 888poker NJ Big Sunday where he plays under the screenname "l0lflawless".
