Earlier last week, PokerStars celebrated a new addition to the PokerStars LIVE family, as a new PokerStars-branded card room officially opened its doors at the Casino de la Valle in Saint-Vincent, Italy.

Inaugurated with a special Mini Italian Poker Tour (Mini IPT) event featuring a 100,000 guaranteed prize pool, the PokerStars LIVE poker room in Saint-Vincent is the fourth card room of its kind globally, joining the ones at the Hippodrome Casino in London and at the City of Dreams in Macau and Manila.

"The new PokerStars LIVE room in Saint-Vincent aims to become a must-go place for Italy's poker lovers," said Team PokerStars Pro, Luca Pagano. "We're excited to bring the best of PokerStars' live poker experience to Northern Italy, and to give players the opportunity to play in a well-run, trusted, and high-quality new card room."

"The PokerStars LIVE in Saint-Vincent represents the most visible sign of a significant partnership between PokerStars and the Casino de la Valle," Italy's Country Manager for PokerStars Marco Trucco explained. "Two Italian Poker Tour events are already scheduled in this season; regular tournaments are available on a weekly basis, and plenty of cash game action too."

Located in the Alpine town of Saint-Vincent, not far from the international airports of Turin and Milan Malpensa, and near the Italian border with France and Switzerland, the new PokerStars LIVE poker room aims to bring Italy back into the European poker scene by combining "an outstanding playing experience, with staff selected and trained by the Italian Poker Tour services company," PokerStars said in a note sent to the media.

The 100,000 guaranteed prize pool and 330 buy-in inaugural Mini IPT event that runs April 25-28 attracted a total of 775 entrants and created a total prize pool of 225,525. The event was won by Swiss player Jean Marc Bellini, who took home 42,000 after a two-way deal with the runner-up Ervin Gjini, who went home with a 40,000 prize.
