WPT Announces Half of Season XIV Schedule; Includes 19 Countries on Four Continents
Back in April, Asher Conniff parlayed a $1,600 investment to win the World Poker Tour World Championship for $937,683. It marked an end to a successful Season XIII, and the WPT quietly gave way to the 2015 World Series of Poker.
While all eyes are on Vegas, which is where Conniff is now, the WPT has announced the schedule for the first half of Season XIV, which actually kicked off in April with partypoker WPT National Newcastle. WPTDeepStacks Iowa and the first WPT Main Tour stop of the season, the partypoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship, immediately followed that stop. The Main Tour then made history with WPT Amsterdam, the first WPT Main Tour event ever held in the Netherlands.
"During Season XIII, we celebrated the historic achievements of players like Darren Elias and Hublot WPT Player of the Year Anthony Zinno; crowned WPT Champions Club members in seven different countries; debuted the extremely successful partypoker presents: WPT500 series in both Las Vegas and the United Kingdom; and embarked on a brand new journey with the WPTDeepStacks Poker Tour," said WPT President Adam Pliska. "With 40 events already scheduled in 19 different countries on four different continents, we look forward to continued growth and success in Season XIV, and we can��t wait to again host our loyal players and fans at their favorite venues around the world."
In the new season, the WPT will visit stops in Oklahoma, Maryland, and Georgia (the country), which marks the first time the tour's ventured to those locales. Here's a look at the upcoming WPT Season XIV Schedule:
