MoheganSunCasino.com Officially Licensed to Operate in New Jersey
Last week, MoheganSunCasino.com entered the online gaming market in New Jersey after launching its soft testing period. During that time the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) ran a series of tests including geo-restriction, player verification and payment processing.
Thanks to passing all of those tests, Connecticut-based Mohegan Sun received approval from the DGE to bring their real-money online casino platform to the state under one of five online casino licenses owned by Resorts Casino Hotel. That means MoheganSunCasino.com is officially launched in New Jersey.
While known primarily for their Connecticut property, the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority (MTGA) also operate the Mohegan Sun Pocono in Pennsylvania and serve as managers of Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, which officially launched ResortsCasino.com back in April after having received a transactional waiver earlier in the year.
MTGA is excited to enter into our soft-launch testing period in advance of introducing what we believe will raise the bar in online gaming C MoheganSunCasino.com, said Bobby Soper, president of MTGA, said when the site initially launched. Our goal is for MoheganSunCasino.com to become the premier online destination for both serious gamers and those who simply want to relax and have fun. We look forward to the site going live and bringing players in New Jersey the very latest that online gaming has to offer.
MoheganSunCasino.com features a large variety of casino slots, video poker and table games, an industry-leading VIP rewards and premier loyalty program.
MoheganSunCasino.com will be the latest example of our commitment to partnering with the worlds most trusted and respected brands to deliver the best gaming experience possible to our players, said Morris Bailey, owner of Resorts Casino Hotel. We are excited to continue our venture into the iGaming world and launch MoheganSunCasino.com as one of our five online casino licenses, offering the luxurious experience the world has come to know from Mohegan Sun.
Resorts Casino Hotel, which made history as the first American casino outside of Nevada and the first introduced to Atlantic City in 1978, partnered with PokerStars in July 2013 to bring online poker to the Garden State if and when the latter company receives approval. PokerStars partnered with Resorts after their previous attempt to acquire the now shuttered Atlantic Club Casino expired.
"The launch of MoheganSunCasino.com will not impact the deal that Resorts Casino Hotel has with PokerStars," Mark Giannantonio, president and CEO of Resorts Casino Hotel, confirmed to PokerNews.
