In recent weeks, online tournament fields in New Jersey experienced a downswing as the weather got warmer and players started to head to Nevada for the World Series of Poker (WSOP). This week, however, we witnessed some bigger prize pools thanks to the conclusion of the WSOP.com Online Championships.
"Str8FlushGuy" outlasted a 43-player field to take down the $500 buy-in $25,000 GTD Online Championships Event #85 [Re-entry] to bank $8,482. In the other big event over the weekend, it was George "glytterpyss" Cicak taking home $5,150 after winning the $12,500 GTD Online Championships Event #86 [Re-entry].
However, the biggest winner in the Garden State over the weekend came in the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com $50,000 Guarantee with "Jamdizzi777" shipping a cool $10,000 for being the last man standing. "ThreeBetYou" collected a nice consolation prize of $6,585 for his runner-up performance.
New Jersey's "dawonderboy7" also won big by shipping the WSOP.com/888poker NJ Sunday $35,000 Guarantee for $9,450. "Str8yAAnkAAs" banked $5,513 for finishing in second place out of a field of 163 players.
Over on on 888poker NJ, it was "TraderSteven" finishing on top of the 36-player field in The Big Sunday for $3,500.
