The 2015 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is in its final days with 55 events in the books as of this writing.

The online poker festival is taking place on PokerStars through Sunday, Sept. 27, and when all is said and done 70 of the biggest events of the year will have awarded $45 million in guaranteed prizes.

The WCOOP began on Sept. 6 with American poker refugee Peter "RcknTheSbrbs" Nigh claiming the honor of shipping the opening event, the WCOOP-01: $109 NL Hold'em [WCOOP Kickoff, Phase 2], $1.5M Guaranteed for $200,352.

Meanwhile, Germany's "tobi123456" is currently the biggest winner in the 2015 WCOOP after winning the WCOOP-25: $10,300 NL Hold'em (8-Max, Optional Re-Entry, High-Roller), $2M Guaranteed for $654,000.

That stat was expected to change in the WCOOP-47: $51,000 NL Hold'em [8-Max, Super High-Roller], $1M Guaranteed, but due to a three-way deal on the final table, the record still stands. Regardless, the Super High Roller set a new record for the biggest buy-in in online poker tournament history.

Some of the biggest events are yet to come, including the WCOOP $5,200 Main Event, which guarantees to pay out at least $10 million in prizes.

After the deal was made in that tournament, it was American poker refugee Ben "Ben86" Tollerene who beat out a star-studded field of 46 players to take home $616,518. That was by far Tollerene's biggest online tournament win with his previous high score coming on March 28, 2011 in the $1K Monday $2 Million on Full Tilt for $81,736.

As part of the deal, United Kingdom's Jos ngel "Cejakas14" Latorre took second place for $560,412 and Belarus' Nikita "fish2013" Bodyakovskiy banked $594,070 for his third-place finish.

The Super High Roller wasn't the only big event last Sunday. The Czech Republic's "3P3NIPA" outlasted a field of 1,502 players in the WCOOP-48: $2,100 NL Hold'em [Sunday Million SE], $2M Guaranteed to collect $503,170. Also scoring big in that tournament was Russia's "toril274", who banked $367,990 for second place, and Ireland's "GaryT20" snagging $277,870 for third.

In the WCOOP-53: $2,100 NL Hold'em [Super Tuesday SE], $1.5M Guaranteed, Sweden's David "Mrdawwe" Sonelin won $348,695 with a first-place finish after agreeing to a heads-up deal with Ukraine's "Anjeyyy". "Anjeyyy" banked $309,745 for second place, while India's Amit "bblacklegend" Jain secured $206,028 for finishing in third place.

In other news, Brazil's Yuri "theNERDguy" Martins finally won his first COOP title, winning the WCOOP-51: $1,050 PL Omaha Hi/Lo Championship [6-Max], $50K Guaranteed for $59,840. Martins has had some close calls in the past, including a second-place finish in last year's WCOOP Main Event for $708,251, along with a runner-up performance in the 2015 TCOOP-14: $82+R NL Omaha H/L [6-Max, Turbo], $100K Gtd for $21,168.

Some of the biggest events are yet to come, including the WCOOP $5,200 Main Event, which guarantees to pay out at least $10 million in prizes. The three-day tournament kicks off on Sept. 27 at 14:30 ET with satellites and sub-satellites currently running on PokerStars around the clock.
