Niall Farrell

On October 31, Niall Farrell ended his great run at the Main Event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Malta with a victory worth 534,330. To put together the biggest score in his poker career, the Scottish poker pro had to survive a field of 651 entries and beat Bosnia and Herzegovinas Alen Bilic at the end of a speedy final table.

What many might not remember, however, is that only a few days before winning the EPT title in Malta, the very same player left the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main Event in Berlin with a considerably different result.

As 888poker points out on their blog, Farrell who at that time had "only" 1.3 million lifetime in live tournament earnings according to The Hendon Mob was knocked out of the event in 33rd place, just one spot away from the cash.

"I had a lot of chips during Day 1 and Day 2. Then I suddenly lost all my chips. It was a lot of fun until the losing part," Farrell said in a video interview right after he bubbled the Main Event.

"The field was a lot tougher than I thought," Farrell continued as he was delivered gifts the poker room had saved for the bubble boy a warm hat, some Sony headphones, and a miniature chip set that we are sure he used on the plane to Malta to train for the EPT.

Check the video below for the full interview and to learn more about Farrells post-WSOPE plan to forget about the bad beat in a German pub:

888Live Local Events Head to Milton Keynes And Belo Horizonte

Now that the WSOPE is in the books, the worlds second-largest online poker site is getting ready to keep their community busy with the last two live poker events of the season.

As anticipated on Wednesday in our review of the best low buy-in live tournaments to play in Europe during November, a new 888Live Local event will hit Milton Keynes, U.K., from November 9-15. Highlighted by a 220 Main Event with a 25,000 guarantee, the series promises to offer the usual mix of poker and fun that the we have seen at all the other legs of the 888Live Local circuit in 2015.

The most highly anticipated event, however, is probably the one to be held in Belo Horizonte, Brazil from December 10-15, when 888poker will try to bring everyone at the iconic Football Mineir?o Stadium for several days' worth of fun live poker.

The first 888Live Local event to ever hit ground in Brazil will feature a R$490 (about $130 USD) Main Event with a R$500,000 guarantee (about $130,000 USD). The level of the action is already set high as the first-ever Brazilian November Niner Bruno Politano, Bruno Kawauti, and Nicolau Villa-Lobos have already confirmed their attendance.

Players who reside in countries where 888poker legally operates can already start trying to win their seats to both events through online satellites with buy-ins starting from as little as $0.01.
