Swedes Dominating the PocketFives Worldwide Online Rankings

Christian "Eisenhower1" Jeppsson

For the 12th straight week, Sweden's Christian "eisenhower1" Jeppsson is the No. 1 ranked online poker player in the world, according to the PocketFives Worldwide Online Poker Rankings.

Jeppsson has amassed over $7.8 million in PocketFives-tracked online poker tournament cashes in his career. While this is a very impressive number, it is still very far away from overall career leader Chris "moorman1" Moorman, who has accumulated over $12.7 million in online poker tournaments cashes.

The Swede's biggest cash came in May 2015, when he took sixth place in the Spring Championship of Online Poker $10,300 Main Event-High on PokerStars for $294,950.

Just a few months later, Jeppsson recorded the second largest online poker cash in his career when he took first place after agreeing to a three-way deal in the $700 buy-in World Championship of Online Poker Event #61 for $105,943 on PokerStars in Sept. 2015.

While 12 straight weeks of holding the No. 1 spot in the world is something that most poker players can only dream about, Jeppsson has a far way to go if he wants to break the record of 74 straight weeks that American online poker legend Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy was the top online poker player in the world from Apr. 2005 until Sept. 2006.

Jeppsson currently maintains a formidable lead on the rest of the field to remain the top ranked player in the world. However, the No. 2 ranked player in the world, Russia's Artem "veeea" Vezhenkov, continues to dominate online poker tournaments and is making a good case to eventually overtake Jeppsson.

Vezhenkov recorded his largest cash of his online poker career last month when he outlasted a 5,925-player field in the PokerStars Sunday Million to win $183,675. Currently, Vezhenkov resides in the No. 1 spot in the PocketFives Yearly Online Poker Leaderboard, with Jeppsonn literally just points behind him sitting in second place.

Players from Sweden are dominating the PocketFives Worldwide Rankings, holding four of the top six spots. In addition to Jeppsson, Sweden's "lena900" is in third place, "C. Darwin2" resides in fifth place, and Anton "AnteSvante" Wigg sits in sixth place.

Here is a look at the top ten in the PocketFives Worldwide Online Poker Rankings:

As we already mentioned, with two weeks remaining in the year, it's any man's game for who will finish on top of the 2015 PocketFives Yearly Online Leaderboard with Vezhenkov and Jeppsson just separated by a handful of points. Unless a miracle happens, the only other player that appears to be in outside contention is Chile's Nicolas "PokerKaiser" Fierro, who is in third place slightly less than 300 points behind Vezhenkov.
