WPT Tournament of Champions Pot Grows with 2016 Corvette Added
The World Poker Tour had already built up a juicy stock of more than $100,000 in overlay for the participants in its first Tournament of Champions, and that pool has grown with the addition of a 2016 Corvette, courtesy of Monster, producer of the official headphones and speakers of the WPT.
The World Poker Tour has been a tremendous partner for the past two years, showcasing Monsters high-performance headphones and speakers to thousands of poker players and millions of television viewers around the world, said Head Monster Noel Lee. With so many monstrous WPT Champions planning to compete in the Monster WPT Tournament of Champions, we knew that a 2016 Corvette was the perfect first-place prize to celebrate this great accomplishment.
The Corvette joins a pile of other prizes already populating the tournament, including a special Hublot watch, an Aurae Solid Gold Mastercard, a pair of gold Monster 24K Headphones, a custom-made poker table from BBO Poker Tables, a round of golf at Shadow Creek, and a seat in Tiger's Poker Night an exclusive charity tournament benefiting the Tiger Woods Foundation and hosted by Tiger Woods.
All of those goodies will go to the tournament's winner, plus there's $100,000 in added cash from the WPT.
The WPT Tournament of champions is a $15,000 buy-in event open only to members of the WPT Champions Club. Winners of WPT events in Season XIV qualify automatically, and the rest of the eligible players can enter rake-free. The tournament will take place April 22 at Seminole Hard Rock in Florida, at the conclusion of the season's final two events a $3,500 reentry and a $10,000 freezeout, which both also take place at Seminole Hard Rock.
