The 32nd day of the 2016 World Series of Poker saw the Pot-Limit Omaha Championship conclude, the $888 Crazy Eights continue, and the much-anticipated $50,000 Poker Players Championship kick off.

Plus, two more bracelet events came even closer to crowning champions.

Shack-Harris Crowned PLO Champion

Chicago, Illinois' Brandon Shack-Harris won the 2016 World Series of Poker $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship on Saturday.

Shack-Harris outlasted a 400-player field, capturing his second WSOP bracelet and the massive $894,300 first-place prize that came with it, ultimately defeating 2016 WSOP bracelet winner Loren Klein heads up.

"It's very gratifying winning a very difficult tournament," Shack-Harris said. "It is hard to get here, and to finish it. This final table was about as hard as they come."

Just Three Fall in the Poker Players Championship

The 2016 WSOP Event #55: $50,000 Poker Players Championship kicked off on Saturday, drawing 87 entries all vying for the vaunted Chip Reese Trophy. Registration is open until the start of Day 2 on Sunday with the event already outdrawing last year's 84.

After six 100-minute levels, just three players busted, including Abe Mosseri, Keith Gipson, and Stephen Chidwick.

Scott Seiver bagged the chip lead with names like Timofey Kuznetsov, Robert Mizrachi, Michael Mizrachi, Brian Rast, Scotty Nguyen, Mike Gorodinsky, Anthony Zinno, Jason Mercier, Paul Volpe, and Daniel Negreanu all within striking distance.

Play resumes at 2 p.m. local time on Sunday with plans to play six more 100-minute levels.

Crazy Eights Continues

The final two of four starting flights for the 2016 WSOP Event #54: $888 Crazy Eights 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em went down at the Rio on Saturday.

The 10:00 am flight drew 1,715, playing past a 259-player money bubble and down to just 58 remaining.

Notables who cashed but failed to advance included Jason Wheeler, JC Tran, Jeff Madsen, Ray Henson, Martin Jacobson and Carlos Mortensen. Vlad Darie grabbed the end-of-flight chip lead with 454,000. Recognizable names that bagged big included Greg Raymer, Joe Ebanks, Michael Guzzardi and Noah Schwartz.

The fourth and final flight drew 2,230 entries, playing into the money and down to 62 players. Steven Tabb grabbed the lead on 446,000, with notables including Sam Stein, Matt Vengrin and Chris Ferguson also bagging stacks.

The 120 who survived the last two flights will return for Day 2 at 2:00 p.m. local time on Sunday and will be joined by the 87 survivors from the first two.

Heads Up in the $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em

After three days of play, the 2016 WSOP Event #52: $3000 No-Limit Hold'em is down to just two players remaining.

Andrew Lichtenberger will take a 3:1 lead into a heads-up match with Craig Blight beginning at 12 p.m. local time Sunday with a WSOP bracelet and a $569,158 first-place prize hanging in the balance.

A total of 31 players came into play Saturday with hopes of going to the final table and beyond. Tony Ruberto, John Racener, John Hennigan Simon Deadman, Pierre Neuville, Jay Farber and James Akenhead were among those that did not make it that far.

Daniel Wagner, Roger Teska, Thomas Miller, Erhan Iscan, Linglin Zeng and Mac Sohrabi fell at the final table in that order before Lichtenberger busted Chris Johnson third and play was halted for the night.

Five Remain in the Mixed Omaha

A blast from the past leads the five players remaining after three days of play in the 2016 WSOP Event #53: $1500 Mixed PLO/8; Omaha 8; and Big O.

Canadian Gavin Smith, who won his first and only WSOP bracelet in 2010 and was a popular TV poker star in the post-Moneymaker poker boom grabbed the chip lead before play was halted with just five players remaining.

Twenty-seven players started the day Saturday with players including Jason Somerville, Bart Hanson and John Monnette busting before the final table was set.

Gary Bolden finished eighth for for $15,059, David Bach seventh for $20,229, and Yuval Bronshtein sixth for $27,696 before the final five of Smith, Philipp Eirisch, Allan Le, Cody Crouch and Keith Ferrera bagged up.

Play will resume at 2 p.m. local time on Sunday with each player guaranteed $38,634 and a WSOP bracelet and $189,223 awaiting the winner.
