Partypoker has continued to grow its stable of professional players and ambassadors by signing Irish poker legend Padraig Parkinson to represent the brand in Ireland.

Born in Galway, Ireland, Parkinson is one of the more prominent players hailing from the Emerald Isle and one of the most popular thanks to his love for recalling the many poker and non-poker stories from his exploits around the world.

Regaling and entertaining the masses aside, Parkinson is a successful poker player who has almost $1.8 million in live tournament winnings and is also a dab hand at cash games, particularly pot-limit Omaha. Some of Parkinsons best poker tournament achievements include:

  • Winning the fifth series of the famous Late Night Poker
  • Winning the inaugural UKIPT Galway Main Event for 103,500
  • Finishing third in the 1999 World Series of Poker Main Event
  • Finishing third in a $1,500 no-limit holdem event at the 2006 WSOP

One of Parkinsons first duties as a partypoker ambassador is to be the face of the upcoming Grand Prix Cork, a 340 buy in tournament Feb. 23-26 at the Macau Sporting Club in Cork, Ireland. After the Grand Prix, Parkinson heads to Dusk Till Dawn for the latter stages of the 6 million guaranteed MILLIONS event before returning to Ireland to tour the Irish poker circuit during the rest of 2017.

I am proud to join the partypoker team of ambassadors and am extremely excited about the live opportunities that partypoker LIVE will bring to Ireland in 2017," said Parkinson on the partypoker blog. "With the support of partypoker I look forward to continuing my work to grow the Irish poker community.

Group Head of partypoker Tom Waters welcomed Parkinson to the team.

It is a pleasure to have Padraig join the partypoker team as an ambassador and we are delighted to have such a highly regarded and well-known professional representing us in the Irish market," said Waters.

Parkinson joins Sam Trickett, Patrick Leonard, Natalia Breviglieri, Beata Jambrik, Roberto Romanello, Tony Dunst, Mike Sexton, Jackie Glazier, Joao Simao, Jan-Peter Jachtmann, Boris Becker and Carl Froch in sporting the partypoker patch.
