Global Poker Index: Kenney, Peters Keep Setting the Pace
Each week, the Global Poker Index releases a list of the top tournament poker players in the world using a formula that takes into account a player's results over six half-year periods. For a look at the entire list, visit the official GPI website. Here's a look at the rankings as of March 29.

A quiet week tournament-wise means there was little change at the top of the leaderboard in the 2017 Global Poker Index Player of the Year race. Bryn Kenney remains the frontrunner for an eighth week in a row while all of the players kept their spots inside the top 10 since the last update.
The only change was Ari Engel inching up a spot to No. 5 after earning points for a couple of cashes in the recently completed World Series of Poker Circuit Tulsa series, including one in the Main Event won by Will Berry.
Looking down the list a bit for more dramatic movement to report, Salvatore Dicarlo jumped all of the way from No 105 to No. 22 this week after picking up three cashes himself at that WSOP-C series at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, including winning one side event. Will Berry also got a big boost from his Main Event win and three other cashes there, going from No. 177 to No. 30 in the POY rankings.

David Peters retained his hold on the top spot in the overall rankings as well, making it six weeks at No. 1 for him while Bryn Kenney edged up into second position ahead of Nick Petrangelo. Joining the top 10 this week is former overall leader Dan Smith who went from No. 11 to No. 9 after the usual weekly adjustments caused by players' results getting affected by the Aging Factor.

There are only seven new names in the overall GPI top 300 this week, with aforementioned WSOP-C Tulsa Main Event winner Will Berry the highest-ranked of the group after moving up from No. 417 to No. 201.
Tulsa is also where Brian Green cashed four times, earning enough GPI points to move from No. 352 to No. 256 and return to the top 300. Green's previous career peak ranking was No. 127 in May 2015.

Will Berry's leap up the rankings represented the biggest gain of anyone in this week's overall GPI top 300, with Salvatore Dicarlo and Brian Green tied for the next biggest upward move.
Alexander Denisov went from No. 368 to No. 289 after cashing five times during the partypoker Million Sochi festival in Russia, including a couple of final tables. And [Removed:432] finished second in the Marrakech Poker Open in Morocco to Moises Parilla-Ramos, enabling [Removed:433] to move from No. 359 to No. 294 and make his career debut in the top 300.

Finally, only considering players in the current top 300, Enzo Del Piero suffered the steepest drop this week after going from No. 214 to No. 281.

The World Series of Poker Circuit Los Angeles series wraps up at the Bicycle Casino tomorrow. Meanwhile the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown series is well underway in Florida and the Foxwoods Poker Classic is ongoing in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
Over in Europe the Irish Poker Open Festival is drawing eyes this week while the WSOP International Circuit Rozvadov series is also playing out in the Czech Republic.
