The final day of the $10 million guaranteed KO Series at partypoker was plagued with technical problems, which resulted in dozens of tournaments being canceled.

Players took to social media at approximately 8:30 p.m. CET to ask for information about the connectivity problems they were experiencing and to vent their frustrations.

A tweet from the official partypoker Twitter account was posted at 9:05 p.m. CET stating the site was aware of technical issues and that they were working on resolving those issues as quickly as possible.

The partypoker team then paused all tournaments that were in play. Another tweet was sent out informing players that these tournaments were being canceled and that players would be refunded or the prize pools distributed according to the running status of the tournament.

Tournaments scheduled to begin at 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. CET were also canceled after partypoker tweeted that the site was still experiencing technical issues with MTTs, although cash games were back online.

partypoker Managing Director Tom Waters released a statement, offering his apologies and making promises on future events and guarantees.

It was a disaster for us as well as the players, the night of our biggest ever PKO tournaments and on the eve of the launch of our new Power Series. I understand that some players may not immediately return to partypoker given their experiences in the last 24 hours and I expect to see some sizeable overlays in the new Power Series MTTs that run from today. We will run the new Power Series as advertised and will not be reducing guarantees.

The full statement can be read on the partypoker blog.

A lot of disgruntled players took to the Official partypoker/bwin Thread in the Internet Poker sub forum on poker forum 2+2 to share their concerns.

The problems at partypoker came only a couple of days after it published a video highlighting the massive live poker tournament guarantees, the $20 million guaranteed MILLIONS Online event, and the brand new updated poker software.

On Monday morning, partypoker tweeted their apologies and made a new announcement about it's upcoming Sunday schedule.
