The Global Poker Rattlesnake Open wrapped up on Sunday and BUYMEDINNER emerged as the series leaderboard champion after an impressive run that resulted in 15 cashes, five final tables and a victory.

The new Global Poker champ earned his Rattlesnake trophy in the Low version of Event 18: SC$2,500 Guaranteed 6-Max Turbo. BUYMEDINNER now has the pleasant task of deciding what live poker event he will play as a Global Poker representative using the $5,000 live event package.

The pressure is on, as the first two Global Poker leaderboard winners who represented Global Poker at live events both cashed, turning their freeroll into cold, hard cash. Well keep you posted on what event he chooses, but with the WSOP rapidly approaching, one has to wonder if he will try to parlay the package into a bracelet. Hey, anything is possible, and this player is hungry for some extra dinner money.

Overall, the Rattlesnake Open was a resounding success with guarantees being met and exceeded throughout, and players from all over the U.S. and Canada getting in on the action.

Global Poker Makes Amends

While the site experienced some technical issues on the final day of the series, Global Poker acted swiftly to refund players who were unable to participate, and honor posted guarantees for the players involved.

Some comments by players on a 2+2 thread reflect appreciation for how Global Poker handled the situation.

Cam25 commented, Got way more than expected from the tournament chop, very pleased with how you guys (Global Poker) handled this. Thank you :-)

Xdr0opyx confirmed receipt of a refund. I got my full refunds returned from the disconnect earlier on cash-tables. Thank you Global, you are the white knights of online poker.

Poker_guy13 agreed that the site did right by their players: I want to say that I have been more than unfair to global, but they came through with the refunds and it looks like they paid the overlay. Still disappointed that the tournaments went belly-up but they did the right thing and should be recognized for it. Thank you Global Poker.
