YouTube Star Joey Ingram Skips WSOP Main Event For Karaoke
OK, let's be honest. Joey Ingram has a distaste for poker tournaments and for No-Limit Hold'em. Combine the two and he's really not a happy camper. So it's actually not surprising at all to see that he did not enter the second-largest tournament in the history of the WSOP - the 2018 Main Event.
But that doesn't mean he's not enjoying his time with those who did make the trek to play the annual event. Instead of watching the fireworks display during 4th of July festivities, Ingram did something perhaps a little more fun karaoke. In the late hours of Wednesday night, early Thursday morning, Ingram took to Twitter to post how he was spending his time during the Main Event.
It was only a 16-second clip but later on Thursday, co-founder of DFS media and analytics site FantasyLabs, posted a much longer version and boy is it worth a watch. Take a look.
My 4th of July was betting @Joeingram1 he wouldn't do this. He did, and we all won. https://t.co/84O7lu1bwz

Of course, we had to know more so we reached out to Bales himself to get the details on this prop bet. Turns out, it was a freeroll of $400 for Ingram to go up on stage and sing at Carnaval Court located just outside of Harrah's Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.
According to Bales, he offered Ingram $200, but was told "no chance." A few drinks later, they had themselves an active bet. Bales raised the initial offer from $200 to $400 and next thing you know, Ingram found himself headlining.
"It was actually pretty hilarious because they weirdly had really good singers and Joey was... not."
The best part? He definitely seemed to develop a fan-base from the crowd and everyone just looked like they were having a blast. As Bales put it: "we all won."
