The 2018 Unibet Open Bucharest 1,100 Main Event played eleven one-hour levels. The Main Event started with 182 Day 1 survivors and didnt manage to play down to a final table as seventeen players will return for Day 3 at noon local time, Sunday, August 5.

All the players have secured 5,870, but theyre hoping to be the next Unibet Open champion taking down the 103,060 grand prize in the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel.

Chip leader at the start of the final day of the Main Event will be Anton Vinokurov. He managed to bag 2,930,000 chips, which is about three times the average stack at the start of Day 3.

Vinokurov is followed on the leaderboard by Florin Elisei (2,485,000), Vitalijs Zavorotnijs (2,100,000), and Day 1a chip leader Yaron Turgeman (1,300,500). Others that made it through to Day 3 of the Main Event are 2015 Unibet Open Glasgow champion Daniel Chutrov (610,000) (lead photo), and Unibet Poker Ambassador David Lappin (505,000).

The tournament will resume tomorrow, August 5, at 12 p.m. local time. Theyll start play with level 23 with the blinds being 20,000/40,000, with a 5,000 ante. Unibet Poker will provide the live stream with hole cards on a 30-minute delay at Twitch.tv/unibetpoker.

Day 2 Action

The day started with 182 out of 592 entries left in the tournament. The money would be reached at 87 players left, and they started the day fast paced.

It took a little more than three levels to reach the money. Players that didnt manage to make it include Unibet Poker Ambassador Rauno Estonian Jesus Tahvonen, Deddi Orpaz, Gerret van Lancker, Alex Hendriks, Unibet Poker Ambassador and esports superstar Alan Hotted89 Widmann, and Unibet Poker Ambassador Dara OKearney.

Andrei Alecu ended up as the unfortunate bubble boy after he pushed all in with his pocket pair of jacks and he ran into the pocket queens of Elisei, who made Day 3 second in chips.

Once they were in the money, it was time to say goodbye to players like Unibet Poker Ambassador Fredrik Bergmann (80th - 1,860).

After Bergmann busted out it was all up to Lappin to represent the Unibet Poker Ambassadors and he ended up making it to Day 3. Gareth James (75th - 2,070), Day 1b chip leader Aleksi Himanen (65th - 2,300), Day 1c chip leader Anton Markov (43rd - 3,140), and two-time Unibet Open Main Event champion Mateusz Moolhuizen (35th - 3,480) all fell short of making Day 3.

Another player that managed to make the money was Dutchman Noud van Dijk. Van Dijk qualified for the Main Event for just 0,10. He ended up running his initial buy-in up to a 4 ticket, a 25 ticket, a 250 ticket, and eventually a 2,000 package for the Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event. Van Dijk ended up in 53rd place, banking 2,830 which would be a whopping 28,300 times his initial investment.

The 17 remaining players will return on Sunday, August 5, at 12 p.m. local time. The live stream will start at 12:30 p.m. with a 30-minute security delay because it will be streamed with hole cards. PokerNews will provide updates until a winner is crowned of the 2018 Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event.
