Peter La Terra Shines on Day 1 of the Cash Game Festival Bratislava
The Cash Game Festival Bratislava at Banco Casino is off to a hot start. Day 1 was full of action and a buzz was felt throughout the poker room.
During much of the night, there were seven tables in action with games running in no-limit hold'em and pot-limit Omaha.
The festival began with welcome drinks at 5:30 p.m. CEST. Many players that were at previous festivals were able to reconnect with their poker friends while many others at their first Cash Game Festival were introduced into the ever-expanding Cash Game Festival family.
As will be the case throughout the festival, Day 1 featured two televised feature tables on the Cash Game Festival Twitch channel and embedded in our coverage. Cash Game Festival Head of Media Henry Kilbane and Petyo Andonov were commentating the action with guest hosts throughout the evening including Unibet Poker Ambassador Rauno "Estonian Jesus" Tahvonen.
Peter La Terra, who has been to almost every Cash Game Festival, was the biggest winner at the early 2/2 pot-limit Omaha table after booking a profit of 1,506 or 753 big blinds. La Terra is now in good shape to win his first Cash Game Festival trophy awarded to the player that wins the most big blinds throughout the 10 feature tables during the festival.
Also booking a big profit at that table was 32Red Poker qualifier Anton Dzhelali. He won a four-figure profit of 1,030 and was excited about his hot start to the festival.
Youness Barakat, who set a festival record at the last Cash Game Festival at Platinum Casino in Sunny Beach by notching the biggest profit at three of the first four feature tables was at it again in Bratislava. He was the biggest winner at the late 1/3 no-limit hold'em feature table after booking a profit of 233 or 77.7 big blinds.
Day 1 also featured two online freerolls hosted by Cash Game Festival partner 32Red Poker. They will continue to run freerolls throughout the festival with the password released on the streams as will the Cash Game Festival's other partner Unibet Poker.
The action on Day 2 is expected to be even bigger both on an away from the tables. The day starts relatively early for those with the hospitality package with a laser tag competition followed by lunch.
Stay tuned at PokerNews as we report the action with four more exciting days still yet to come.
