Berende lost a huge pot with ace-king against ten-nine of diamonds when the flop came ace-deuce-six all diamonds. Other players that didn't make it to the final nine were David Hu, Gerry van Aalst, Christophe de Meulder, Alain Bauer, and Jean Seber. Seber finished in tenth place for 10,700 and the final nine players sat down for the final table.
