Teresa Hemingway Leads After Day 1c of HPT Black Hawk
The third and final Day 1 flight of the $1,650 HPT Black Hawk Main Event drew to a close after 286 entrants jammed the Golden Gates for 15 levels of action. The flight pushed the overall total to 588 entrants, which combined for an $864,360 prize pool. The top 12 finishers earn a five-figure payout, with the top two earning $194,478 and $120,146 respectively.
At day's end, just 45 players remained to move on to Day 2 with Teresa Hemingway bagging up the lead with 474,000. Late in the day, Hemingway eliminated Kevin Eyster when the latter moved all in preflop on the button with A?J?. Hemingway called with A?A? and the board ran 7?5?5?Q?3? to give her the knockout and add to her monster stack.
Jason Beasley andJack Peterson were closest behind Hemingway, finishing with 434,000 and 402,000 respectively. Reginald Roberts, Chris Ocksrider, Aaron Massey and Will Berry all advanced on to Day 2 with stacks closer to the average.

Day 2 has 92 players returning to fight for the 63 spots that earn a payout. Action starts an hour earlier at 11 a.m. local time and levels stretch out to 60 minutes. The schedule calls for the field to play down until the final table of nine, regardless of how long it takes.
