The Borgata Fall Poker Open Event #3: $600 Deepstack Kick-Off closed out its final two starting flights on Wednesday. The $500,000 guarantee was easily surpassed as more than 1,400 entries made for a pool north of $700,000.

Here's a snapshot of how the final two flights, Day 1c and Day 1d, went down on Thursday.

Day 1c

The third flight saw 496 entry slips sold and when the last chance saloon had closed for business, it was Markus Alim leading the 85 surviving players with his 484,000 stack.

Alim was among the larger stacks for the latter stages of the day, continually adding chips as quickly as he could acquire them. He was in a close battle towards the end of the night for the lead but found a hand against Kevin Beri that catapulted him into the chip lead, one which he retained.

Alim had a great Day 1c run.

Many well-known players found a bag at the end of the day, including Matthew Zola (366,000), Gilberto Taveras-Garcia (304,000), Frank Funaro (204,000), Jason Rivkin (188,000), Charles Kassin (166,000), Greg Fishberg (121,000), and Peter Zarriello (50,000).

The 496 entries in Day 1c brought the total to 949 across the first three starting flights, with Day 1d still left to play.

Day 1d

There were 476 entries in the final Event #3 flight bringing the combined total to 1,425 entries.

Of that number, approximately 80 advanced to Day 2, and it's Michael Zhan (lead photo) at the top of the chip counts with 355,000. Others making it through included Guoliang Chen (260,000), Soukha Kachittavong (260,000), John Hinds (190,000), Christian Harder (130,000) and David Jackson (109,000).

She Lok Wong will return as the overall chip leader after bagging 539,000 on Day 1b.

Approximately 235 Day 1 survivors will return to the poker room on Friday to resume Day 2 play. PokerNews is on hand for more live coverage, with the winner set to claim more than $155,000.
