It��s shaping up to be a big weekend for the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT), which will host two events across the country. There��s a legitimate chance that at one of them the tour will award a milestone $100 million in prize money. Heading into the stop, the MSPT has awarded $99,275,893 in prize money since its launch in December 2009.

MSPT Heads to Golden Gates

PokerNews is on-site to offer live updates for the $360 buy-in, $150K GTD MSPT Golden Gates Regional Event from November 13-17. The tournament will feature four starting flights at Noon each day from Wednesday, November 13 through Saturday, November 16. Day 2 will then take place at noon local time on Sunday, November 17.

Back in April, it was Aaron Frei topping a 778-entry field to win the MSPT Golden Gates Regional Event for $36,968 after a three-way deal.

The Regional Event, as well as a slew of other side events, will lead to the $1,110 buy-in 2019 MSPT Denver Poker Open next weekend. Day 1a will kick off at noon local time on Thursday, November 21. Days 1b and 1c will then be held at the same time on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23 respectively. The remaining players from each flight will combine on Sunday, November 24 at 11 a.m. and play until a champion is crowned.

Last year��s MSPT Denver Poker Open saw Mike Itoafa top a 383-entry field to win the coveted title and $81,735 top prize. PokerNews will also offer live updates from that Main Event.

2019 MSPT Wisconsin State Poker Championship

This weekend, the MSPT will also be in Milwaukee for the $1,100 buy-in, $300K GTD 2019 Wisconsin State Poker Championship at Potawatomi Casino. The first of three starting flights will be on Thursday, while flights 1b and 1c will take place on Friday and Saturday respectively. That tournament will crown a winner on Sunday.

Last year��s tournament attracted 748 entrants to make it the largest major poker tournament ($1k+ buy-in) in Wisconsin state history. Brett Halan, 27, emerged victorious to claim the title and accompanying $144,812 first-place prize.

Potawatomi Poker Room will host several additional cash tournaments the days leading into Main Event weekend including $360 NLHE, Tag Team Switch, Seniors, $240 Super Stack, NLHE 8-Max, PLO 8-Max and a $580 Last Chance tournament.

With just a few stops remaining, Mike Shin holds a big lead in the Player of the Year race. His 5,400 points are well ahead of Adam Friedman, who is his next closest competition with 3,500 points.

Shin has amassed 10 MSPT cashes in 2019 which includes winning the MSPT Majestic Star back in January for $68,593 and finishing third in the MSPT Venetian over the summer for $334,000. That was the second-largest score of his career behind the $427,930 he received for finishing 12th in the 2016 World Series of Poker Main Event.
