Unibet Open Tallinn moves online with Unibet Open Online May 24-25

The latest live event to be affected by the coronavirus outbreak is Unibet Open Tallinn, which was originally scheduled for May 20-24. However, instead of cancelling Unibet have moved the event online to be held on the Unibet Poker client from May 24-25.

The 1,050+50 buy-in event comes with a 100,000 guarantee and is the largest buy-in online tournament ever held on Unibet Poker.

There is also a 90+10 Mini Main Event also taking place online, with the structure mirroring the Main Event and players receiving a massive 30,000 starting stack.

More details about the online schedule and structures will be released shortly.

"Bold Step" says Unibet Head of Events

The decision to move Unibet Open Tallinn online will enable hundreds of players to take part regardless of any travel difficulties or lockdowns, say, organizers, who are expecting huge numbers of players to take part.

"With concerns about Coronavirus hampering travel for so many people, we wanted to do something really positive for players and make sure as many can participate in the event as possible," said Nataly Sopacuaperu, Unibets Head of Events. "There will still be trophies for the winners of the Main Event and Mini ME and well be creating a lot of fun around the event including building up excitement on the live stream. We also hope a lot of Estonian players will join us for the event C and even take it down on home soil.

Ambassadors Excited for Largest Buy-in Unibet Online Tournament Ever!

One of the features of Unibet live events are the team of Ambassadors present and the exciting atmosphere at the tables, something that won't be different for this new online tournament.

Unibet Ambassador David Lappin, who recently signed a new deal as Ambassador, said that the rescheduling to online means everyone can take part, even if they are in a country where travel is tricky.

Coronavirus is having an adverse effect on so many scheduled events worldwide," said Lappin. "But were really delighted that Unibet Open will still effectively be going ahead, but online instead of IRL. Were still all in for this online event and Ill be giving my best shot at winning a first title!

His compatriot and fellow Ambassador Dara O'Kearney echoed his sentiments:

Obviously its disappointing that we wont get to visit Tallinn in person," he said. "But player health and safety is paramount and at least were still going to have a cracking tournament to compete in. This will actually be the largest buy-in online tournament that Unibet has ever hosted so theres a lot to get excited about C especially the 100,000 guarantee!
