Sunday Briefing: Pavel Plesuv Wins Stadium Series Afterparty High Roller

Moldova��s Pavel ��silentm0de�� Plesuv was one of online poker��s biggest winners on August 16 courtesy of him taking down the $1,050 Stadium Series Afterparty High Roller event.

Ninety-nine players made it into the final phase and all 99 were in the money. Such luminaries as Mike ��SirWatts�� Watson, Sam ��SamSquid�� Grafton, Parker ��tonkaaaa�� Talbot, Luke ��Bit2Easy�� Reeves, Samuel ���urop�an�� Vousden, and Artur ��mararthur1�� Martirosian were among those who finished with something to show for their efforts.

Everyone at the final table locked up at least $14,559. This is the sum awarded to Canada��s ��RPILON�� who busted in ninth. Jans ��Graftellek�� Arends, and Jerry ��Perrymejsen�� Odeen joined RPILON on the rail with prizes of $20,201 and $28,029 in their back pockets.

Romanian star Alexandru ��steaksddict.�� Papazian��s tournament ended in a sixth-place finish worth $38,890 before Brazilian sensation Bernado ��bedias�� Dias busted in fifth for $53,961.

��dujo123�� crashed out in fourth and banked $74,872. The surviving three players were now guaranteed a six-figure prize. Sami ��Lrslzk�� Kelopuro was the first of this trio of grinders to win such an amount, Kelopuro padded his bankroll with $103,886.

David ��davaman�� Lopez and Plesuv locked horns heads-up and it was the latter who emerged from the battle victoriously. Plesuv collected $200,000 fr his impressive victory which left Lopez to secure a $144,142 consolation prize.

Sergi ��srxakgirona�� Reixach was another big winner at PokerStars thanks to him taking down the $5,200 NLHE High Roller Single Event. The field was crammed full of the game��s biggest names and a handful of those stars made it to the final table.

The likes of Pascal ��Pass_72�� Lefrancois, Joao ��Naza114�� Vieira and Sam ��Str8$$$Homey�� Greenwood were present and correct at the final table, the latter falling in third for $71,359.

Reixach found himself in the unenviable position of being heads-up against Sami ��Lrslzk�� Kelopuro but he managed to brush aside the flying Finn and get his hands on the $119,483 top prize. Kelopuro won $92,337 for his second-place finish, a great weekend for the Finn who also won $103,886 in the Afterparty!

There were some massive scores over at GGPoker and not just in the bracelet-awarding events you can read all about on our live reporting pages.

Wiktor Malinowski locked up one of the largest prizes of the day, one worth $263,022. This was Malinowski��s reward for winning the Bryn High Rollers $25K. It was part of a heads-up deal with Ali Imsirovic who netted $199,331.

Only two others saw a return on their investment. Recent WPT 6-Max Championship winner Nick Petrangelo finished in fourth for $66,479 with Pascal Lefrancois winning $108,166 for his third-place finish.

Imsirovic made up for finishing second in that even by winning the High Rollers Blade Prime $5K. Some 118-players bought in and created a $560,500 prize pool that the top 17 finishers shared.

Imsirovic got his hands on the $122,853 top prize after defeating Kristen Bicknell heads-up. Bicknell saw $93,453 head to her GGPoker account.

Also at the final table were the likes of Sam Greenwood (7th - $23,802), Alex Foxen (6th - $31,290), Sergi Reixach ($41,134), Adrian Mateos (4th - $54,076), and Vicent Bosca Ramon (3rd - $71,088).

Malinowski wins an $842,000 cash game pot!

partypoker saw some massive tournaments take place thanks, in part, to the WPT World Online Championships taking place there.

Team partypoker��s Isaac Haxton was one of the big winners after taking down the WPT Super High Roller. Twenty-one players bought in for $25,500 and only three spots were paid. Artur Martirosian burst the money bubble and Christoph Vogelsang collected $105,000 for his third-place finish.

The tournament ended in a heads-up deal between Haxton and high roller specialist Dan Smith. Smith officially finished second for $204,864 with Haxton crowned champion and banking $215,135.

Haxton��s teammate Kristen Bicknell won a WPTWOC side event during the week and took one down on August 16 too. Bicknell came out on top of the WPT Knockout Turbo: $150K Gtd. Bicknell found herself heads-up against Team partypoker��s Patrick Leonard but the friends didn��t strike a deal.

This meant Bicknell won the $13,835 top prize plus an impressive $19,375 worth of bounties. Leonard collected $13,820 from the main prize pool and this was bolstered by $8,343 from the bounty prize pool.

Nick Petrangelo joins the WPT Champions Club

Lastly for this week��s Sunday Briefing are the two biggest scores from 888poker. ��i2out�� of Latvia triumphed in the $20,000 Sunday Challenge and turned $109 into $4,386. This prize was blown out of the water by ��SteveyBG�� whose second $109 bullet in the Sunday Mega Deep resulted in victory and a bankroll-boosting $18,750 prize.

Follow on
