Five of the Biggest Pots from the 2020 PokerStars Pennsylvania PACOOP
Table Of Contents
This past weekend, the 2020 PACOOP wrapped up. The series catered to 21,326 entrants over its 50 events while awarding $2,040,033 in prize money. Highlights from the online festival include Zach "KennytheRipper" Gruneberg, who was this weeks guest on the PokerNews Podcast, winning three titles, and "LetMeWin3437" taking down the $300 buy-in, $200K GTD Main Event for $46,319.13.
PokerNews offered live updates for several tournaments on the PACOOP schedule, and throughout the series, we captured several big, game-changing hands. Heres a look at five of the most interesting hands to come out of the 2020 PACOOP.
"shqyp" Scores Rare Triple Elimination in Single Hand
In Level 23 (7,000/14,000/1,750) of Event #6: $100 NLHE [Sunday Special SE], $100K GTD, "Brother Justin" raised all in for 33,005 from middle position and "MANDeLOREAN" called next to act. "shqyp" then came along from the hijack, "kaylasdad5" did the same from the big blind, and there were three active players to the J?5?2? flop.
"kaylasdad5" jammed for 149,347, "MANDeLOREAN" raised all in over the top for 232,380, and the big-stacked "shqyp" called to put them both at risk.
"shqyp": J?J?
"MANDeLOREAN": K?K?
"kaylasdad5": Q?5?
"Brother Justin": A?K?
"shqyp" had flopped top set and he scored a rare three-way elimination after the 3? turn and 9? river filled out the board.
"Brother Justin" exited in 120th place, "laylasdad5" in 119th, and "MANDeLOREAN" in 118th all for $206.81 apiece.
"TryptophanMan": Closes Out High Roller
In PACOOP 30: $500 PLO [6-Max, High-Roller], it was Level 23 with blinds of 5,000/10,000 when "hunterm708" raised to 30,000 on the button and "TryptophanMan" three-bet to 90,000. "hunterm708" four-bet for another pot-sized figure of 270,000 and "TryptophanMan" called, bringing about a flop of Q?3?Q?. "TryptophanMan" checked, "hunterm708" jammed for 205,648, and "TryptophanMan" immediately called.
"hunterm708": A?K?5?2?
"TryptophanMan": A?Q?10?8?
"TryptophanMan" had a commanding lead after flopping trips with an ace kicker. They needed to fade only running kings, clubs, or wheel outs. The clubs became a real sweat on the turn 7?, but the river K? was clean and "TryptophanMan" found themselves with all the chips in the tournament as "hunterm708" finished the tournament in second place, earning $6,638 for their efforts.
Shahade Exits Sunday Special Edition
In PACOOP 26: $100 NLHE [Sunday Special SE], registration had come to an end in Level 16 (2,000/4,000/500) when "poolshark1129" limped in from middle position, Jen "JenShahadePA" Shahade raised to 14,000 from the hijack and "Dayblazer84" three-bet jammed for 33,431 from the big blind.
Action was back on "poolshark1129" who came over the top for 329,283 and Shahade called off her 93,757 stack.
"Dayblazer84": A?J?
"poolshark1129": A?9?
Jennifer "JenShahadePA" Shahade: K?Q?
Shahade was behind holding live cards but it was "Dayblazer84" who connected with the 6?3?J? flop.
The 9? turn wasn't a bad card for Shahade as she added more outs with a gutshot straight draw. Unfortunately for Shahade, the 5? river was a brick ending the PokerStars PA Ambassador's night just as registration closed.
Quads for "Eastin_Malojinn"
At the final table of PACOOP 36: $250 NLHE [Progressive KO, Thursday Thrill], it was Level 33 with blinds of 30,000/60,000 and an ante of 7,500 when "InspectorDeck" raised all-in for 393,346 from under the gun, "Eastin_Malojinn" came over the top for 684,568 and "GARYtheGiraffe" isolated.
"InspectorDeck": A?3?
"Eastin_Malojinn": K?K?
"GARYtheGiraffe": A?2?
"Eastin_Malojinn" was ahead with their pocket kings and didn't have a sweat as they secured the pot after the K?9?K? flop gave them quads. The board finished with the meaningless 10? on the turn followed by the 8? on the river and "InspectorDeck" took their exit in fourth place.
"LetMeWin3437" Wins the Biggest Pot of Main Event
In the PACOOP 43: $300 NLHE Main Event, the blinds were at 125,000/250,000 when "staxthagawd" kicked off the action with a raise to 750,000, and "DakDakAce" flatted on the button. "love2playpoker" reraised to 3,177,775 in the small blind, and from the big blind, "LetMeWin3437" shoved all in for 11 million and change.
"staxthagawd" quickly folded, but "DakDakAce" wasn't going anywhere, as he called off his final nine million. Chip leader "love2playpoker" also called the all in, and just like that, 33 million chips were in the middle before the flop came down.
"LetMeWin3437": Q?Q?
"love2playpoker": K?K?
"DakDakAce": A?A?
The flop of J?9?4? didn't change up, but the K? turn sure did. Now "love2playpoker" was in prime position to knock both players out, and take a stranglehold in this tournament. However, the 10? smacked down on the river, and just like that, "LetMeWin3437", who started with the worst of it, rivered a straight to take a massive chip lead and go on to win the tournament.
