King's Resort vs Facebook lawsuit

In April, PokerNews reported that King's Resort owner Leon Tsoukernik was suing Facebook for $24,000,000. He was seeking eight figures in damages after fake mobile adverts were illegally using the King's brand.

Now, in a statement on the King's Resort website they have announced the latest developments in the case.

A Question of Jurisdiction

The statement says that due to the location of Facebook's headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, most lawsuits against the company are handled in that country.

However, a court in Prague has now ruled that Czech courts have jurisdiction in this case, something that King's say is a "big advantage" for them.

Further Developments

Additionally, the statement reveals further developments to King's case against Facebook. The illegal advertising apparently did not include a reference to gambling addiction prevention, something that all Czech casinos must include.

King's point to this as further evidence of the gambling adverts being illegal.

With $2.7m in WSOP earnings and and $4.6m in lifetime earnings, Pescatori has cashed four times at the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) at King's Resort, Rozvadov.

No details have been released as to what his role will include, but no doubt we will see 'The Italian Pirate' at the WSOPE later this year.
