Final Table Action
It only took roughly five hours to get down to nine players and the action was never slow. Daniel "bunzer07" Jordan was the first to exit on the final table when he ran jacks into the ace-queen of Eric "powwow" Ethans and an ace flopped to eliminate him in ninth place.
The next casualty came when Ethans became short and moved in with ace-eight and was called by the big stack of Paul "ToTheMoon" Dewald. The flop saw both players make a pair but the turn brought trip-fives for Dewald and Ethans was done in eighth place.
Former Main Event Champion Ryan "BitC0in" Riess made a deep run but when he was all in with jack-ten against then king-ten of Patrick "WaddlesDaPig" Truong and could not improve, and it was the end of the road as he exited in seventh place.
Soon after Dewald became short and shoved all in from the small blind with jack-eight but ran into the ace-four of "ccast93" and could not find help, sending him out in sixth place.
A double elimination happened when Tom ".BEAST." Cannuli and Truong were all in with an ace against the pocket-aces of "ccast93" and were eliminated in fifth and fourth place.
John "Slapshot1085" Forlenza picked up king-six and moved in against the big blind of "ccast93" who woke up with ace-queen and sent Forlenza to the rail in third place.
Zachary "Lovepuddle" Schwartz started heads-up play with a sizable chip disadvantage but managed to double up twice, evening the stacks, however when a few hands didn't go his way he found himself all in with eight-seven against the ace-ten of "ccast93". The board did not improve Schwartz and he finished in runner-up position, scoring the victory and gold for "ccast93".
