PartyPoker Grand Prix KO Autumn in Full Swing; Three Winners Crowned

The Grand Prix KO Autumn edition is taking place right now at PartyPoker, a series of 11 numbered events that are all progressive knockout tournaments. A trio of events are now in the bag, having crowned their worthy champions over the past few days.

The Opener, 6-Max Championship, and Mini 6-Max Championship events are done and dusted, and these are the PartyPoker players that took them down.

Darroch Does It For Canada

Canada's Travis Darroch took down The Opener, a $33 buy-in $75,000 guaranteed affair that saw 2,436 players buy-in over the course of multiple flights. The bumper turnout, combined with the bounty element, meant all but two of the nine finalists turned their $33 investment into a four-figure sum.

By the time the heads-up stage was reached, the final two players could not take home less than $5,000, a healthy return for such a buy-in. Brazilian Marcelo De Oliveira fell at the final hurdle and saw his PartyPoker account balance grow by $5,447. Darroch was, therefore, the last man standing. His reward? $8,692 and the title of champion.

Rankic Runs Away With the 6-Max Championship Event Title

The first Championship event of the series saw 948 players buy-in for $215 and fight it out for the lion's share of the $200,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Each of the six finalists locked in more than $5,000 for their efforts, and the prize money continued growing with each elimination. First, Jesus Ucero of Estonia bowed out, before Sander Totuli, Jonathan Harling, and Joao Vieira fell by the wayside, the latter banking $11,750 for his third place finish.

Marijan Rankic of Slovenia fought it out one-on-one with Hungary's Adam Hari for the final bounty, which weighed in at five figures; indeed, it was almost the size of the main prize pool payout!

Rankic got the job done and his hands on $26,554, made up of a $14,000 main prize pool prize and $12,554 worth of bounties. Hari headed into the night with a $15,269 consolation prize.

Tragueta Takes Down the Mini 6-Max Championship

The Mini 6-Max Championship attracted 3,351 players to the six-handed tables, each vying for a slice of the $75,000 pie. Such an impressive turnout meant each of the six finalists would turn their $22 investment into more than $1,600.

Jan Nielsen of Denmark was joined in the role of spectator first by Kazakhstan's Anatoly Zuev, then by Victor Martins, and Malta's Baptiste Scorsone. The Maltese grinder's elimination left Fernando Tragueta heads-up against Martin "Marty" Mathis, the winner of the PartyPoker LIVE MILLIONS South America Main Event in 2019.

Mathis would have been a favorite to take down the Grand Prix KO Mini 6-Max Championship, but he ultimately had to make do with a second-place finish this time around. That meant Mathis banked $5,403 while Tragueta claimed the $7,139 top prize.
