Among those to fall in-the-money on Day 3 and claim their portion of the $4,931,200 prize pool were Andrew Ostapchenko (20th - $33,100), Brock Wilson (34th - $19,300), Frank Funaro (48th - $16,500), four-time WPT champ Darren Elias (56th - $14,200), Josh Reichard (62nd - $12,450), Nate Silver (66th - $11,000), and Rob Wazwaz (77th - $9,800).
Also making a deep run was three-time WPT champ Anthony Zinno, who busted in Level 28 (75,000/125,000/125,000). According to updates from the event, Zinno opened for 275,000 and then called off for approximately 2.7 million after Ted McNamara moved all in.
It was a flip as Zinno held ace-king against the two black jacks of his opponent. The flop fell three queens, while both a four on the turn and six on the river left Zinno wanting. He was ousted in 17th place for $33,100 and officially brought Day 3 to a close.
As for Wilson, he vaulted up the chip counts just before the dinner break when he got his 3.25 million stack all in on a queen-high flop holding ace-queen. He was behind the five-deuce of Max Kingstone, which had flopped bottom two pair, but the dealer promptly turned an ace to give Wilson the lead. He doubled to 6.85 million while Kingston was left with crumbs and ultimately busted in 22nd place for $27,400.
