PokerStars Sunday Million PKO

The PokerStars Sunday Million is one of the most prestigious online poker tournaments ever created. Thousands of PokerStars players turn out every week hoping to become the tournament's champion and join a long list of poker greats who have tamed the Sunday Million beast.

On November 20, at 6:00 p.m. GMT, the PokerStars Sunday Million costs the same $109 to enter, and has $1 million guaranteed to be won, but the format is that of a progressive knockout tournament, meaning you can win cash without reaching the top finishing places where the main prize pool money is distributed.

Each Sunday Million PKO entrant sits down armed with 50,000 chips, and battles it out to blinds starting at 125/250/30a. Those blinds increase every 15-minutes for the first 13 levels before reducing to 12-minute levels thereafter. Late registration remains open for 3.5 hours, during which time up to three re-entries are permitted should you dust off your stack.

As this week's Sunday Million PKO is a two-day affair, the first day concludes 7 hours 50 minutes after pitching the first cards, with surviving players gathering at 6:00 p.m. GMT on November 21 to complete the tournament and crown the champion.

The PokerStars Sunday Million was a PKO event last weekend. To our surprise, the tournament overlaid to the tune of almost $40,000 after 9,603 players bought in before late registration slammed shut.

Belarusian "frost3ggg" walked away with the title and the lion's share of the prize pool. They turned their $109 investment into a bankroll-boosting $83,484 with bounties included. It was an impressive victory made sweeter by the fact frost3ggg outlasted Brazil';s Jonathan "JonzStars" Rosa, and Stefan "mindgamer" Jedlicka at the nine-handed final table.

This week, you could be looking at a similar payout, having only invested $0.55 into winning your seat in the Sunday Million PKO.

PokerStars Updates Its Already Excellent Software

Jumping into any of the satellites mentioned above or buying into the Sunday Million PKO direct will allow you to see the new additions to the PokerStars software. A recent update came with some improvements to the look and feel of various areas of the PokerStars client, in addition to removing some little-used settings to unclutter the settings section.

Players based in the United Kingdom can enjoy a new design of the Spin & Go lobby; there will be a global rollout in 2023.

Chatting and taking notes has been made easier, too. Hitting Ctrl+Z undoes any typing, with a second Ctrl+Z redoing the typing.

Other improvements include a much better tournament information widget, larger emoji images in the chat bubbles, adding throwables to the Video Chat tables in Home Games, and the ability to pull up detailed tournament information when playing on the PokerStars mobile app.
