Arends Annihilates Opposition on Way to $83K PokerStars Score

Jans "Graftekkel" Arends ended the 2023 PokerStars World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) on a high, taking down the $10,300 buy-in edition of the Thursday Thrill for an impressive $202,936. Most poker players may have taken some time away from the virtual felt following such a large score, but Arends is not like most players; he was immediately back in the saddle and behind his monitor.
Arends was one of 62 entrants in this weekend's $5,200 Titans Event. Those entrants created a $310,000 prize pool that was distributed among the final table of nine. Aliaksei "ale6ka" Boika was the unfortunate soul who popped the all-important money bubble, Boika's tenth-place finish seeing him go home empty-handed, and locking in at least $9,664 for the nine surviving players.
Ole "wizowizo" Schemion was the first superstar to bust inside the money places. The final table became shorter-handed with the exits of Dominik "Bounatirou" Nitsche, Brazilian sensation Bruno "great dant" Volkmann, and British grinder Andy "BowieEffect" Wilson.
The final five became four when "GodOf.com" fell by the wayside, and then three when "blowknockout" of Mexico found themselves void of chips. The Titans Event progressed to the heads-up stage when "FishOnHeater" bowed out in third.
Arends and Felipe "ketzerfelipe" Ketzer were the heads-up duo, two players that have locked horns and butted heads countless times over the years. In this event, the fight went Arends' way, securing an $83,672 payday while resigning Ketzer to a $62,670 consolation prize.

Darie Demolishes $1K Sunday High Roller Field
Romania's Vlad "dariepoker" Darie ended Sunday in style by becoming the champion of the $1,050 Sunday High Roller PKO tournament, an impressive result that added $22,080 to Darie's coffers.
A victory in these events is never guaranteed due to the incredible players that frequent them. Any of Roman "Gogac sniper" Hrabec, "P0KERPR02.0," Aliaksei "ale6ka" Boika, or Sweden's "flerrehuve" would have made a worthy champion, but each of them crashed out at the final table.
When Germany's "Lollypop78" got licked, Darie found himself heads-up against Poland's "Tr!pleeeee" in a battle for the final bounty payments. Both players reeled in almost $9,900 from the main prize pool, but an additional $12,234 found its way to Darie after he brushed aside his Polish opponent.

"Tonkaaaa" Does the Double, Neymar Jr Misses Out
Although the fields were smaller than usual on PokerStars on October 8, partly because of players taking breaks after WCOOP or making their way to the European Poker Tour Cyprus festival, there were still some notable prizes and winners.
Team PokerStars' Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot took down the $530 PLO Sunday High Roller for $6,282 after defeating Dominik "Bounatirou" Nitsche heads-up. Talbot also bagged the $7,218 top prize from the $109 Sunday Kickoff earlier in the day.
Elsewhere, "flerrehuve," who finished fourth in the $1,050 Sunday High Roller, won the $1,050 Sunday Warm-Up for $13,358 after sending Brazilian soccer ace Neymar "Neymar-jr" Jr. to the rail in second. Neymar is currently back in his native Brazil after attending the birth of his daughter, Maive.
