PokerStars US Announces Winter Series W/ $5 Million In Prizes
Online poker players in North America looking for early tournament action this year are in luck as PokerStars US announced its Winter Series with $5 million in prize money in the markets of Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ontario.
The PokerStars Winter Series, running Jan. 12-29 is headlined by $300 buy-in Main Event Championships across three festivals (ON, PA, Shared Liquidity).
Over in Pennsylvania, there will be 85 events with $1.5 million in guarantees across them. Meanwhile, Michigan and New Jersey players will have 85 events to choose from with $2.25 million in guaranteed prize money. In Ontario, there will be 120 events with $1.7 million CAD up for grabs.
In addition to the $5 million in prize money across the three festivals, the PokerStars Winter Open will award ten special edition watches in special watch events. Not only that, but the winners of each series leaderboard will walk away with an extra $10,000.
PokerStars will be running a Depositor Freeroll, meaning a $50 deposit will get players a ticket for a freeroll where they can earn an entry into the Main Event.
