Winner's Reaction
Lapka told reporters following his victory that after the World Series of Poker, he was planning to take some time away from poker. But he eschewed the break in favor of the largest victory of his career.
"...winning this Main Event just kind of means the world"
Lives been really frustrating for me," he said "In my ten-year career, my biggest score was like the Main Event for $70k or something, and there have been times that I just wanted to give up playing live.
"Theres always been the bigger buy-ins and then I lose, lose, lose, come home play online, and build it back up with smaller buy-ins.
"So coming here and winning this Main Event just kind of means the world.

Final Table Action
Twelve players resumed play on the final day from a field of 1,017, and by the time the final table was reached start-of-day chip leader Kalyan Chivukula was still atop the pile.
Chivukula was quickly overtaken by Lapka, and had to contend with a Kaleb Harwell doubling through him, but Chivukula would have the last laugh, sending Harwell home in ninth.
Lapka then sent both Tim Faro and Derek Normand to the wrong side of the rail as Chivukula contended with yet another player Zak Baron doubling through him. Nicolas Splawn, a member of 'TheOnTiltBoys' vlogger group, was eliminated in sixth before Chivukula's run ended in fifth at the hands of Lapka.
Chivukula had thought he'd managed to survive after rivering a queen-high straight with 10?8? on Q?Q?9?Q?J?, but Lapka held 6?6? and had turned a full house to leave Chivukula needing to river a straight flush to survive.
The river was a jack a red one at that but it wasn't enough and the start-of-day chip leader was eliminated.
Lapka was on a roll now, cracking the pocket pair of Mack Khan to eliminate him, before picking up pocket aces to send Baron home in third.
Heads-up play started with Lapka holding an over 4:1 chip lead, and he made short work of Merkow to secure victory and his third WSOP Circuit ring.
