Biography

Duhamel was born in Boucherville, Canada on August 24, 1987. He started playing poker with his high school friends and later studied business administration and finance at the University of Quebec. However, he didn't graduate and pursued a career as a professional poker player.

2010 WSOP Main Event

Duhamel entered the 2010 World Series of Poker and was the chip leader at the final table. However, he is also remembered for a brutal beat on Matt Affleck with two tables remaining, rivering a straight to crack Affleck's aces to knock out his opponent in 15th place.

The final table is perhaps best known for just how stacked the final table was, with Joseph Cheong, Matthew Jarvis and Michael Mizrachi all making the November Nine.

Duhamel held onto his chip lead until he defeated John Racener heads-up to walk away with almost nine million dollars. Duhamel donated $100,000 from his 2010 WSOP Main Event winnings to the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation.

2011 Home Invasion and Robbery

In 2011, Duhamel was the victim of a home invasion where two men entered Duhamel's home, attacked him and stole several items including money, a Rolex watch and his 2010 WSOP Main Event bracelet.

In 2012, his bracelet was discovered by a street sweeper in Montreal. They also eventually recovered half of the missing money.

Jonathan Duhamel Poker Achievements

Duhamel has three WPT cashes on his record including two final tables. In 2011 he finished seventh at the WPT Marrakech 3,000 Main Event for $30,100 while in 2012 he finished second in the L.A. Poker Classic side event and then scored thirteenth place at the Bay 101 Shooting Stars $9,500 Championship Bounty tournament.

At the 2012 EPT PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, he final tabled four events in just one week. He won one event and took home a total of $1.2 million in cash prizes.

In 2015, Duhamel left PokerStars.

Later that very same year, he added a further two bracelets in the $111,11 High Roller for One Drop and later at the 2015 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) in a 25,600 High Roller.
