Matthew Alsante is an American poker player best known for winning Event #87: $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas for $785,486 and his first WSOP bracelet.
Going into the 2024 WSOP, Alsante only had $30,157 in live tournament cashes, with his largest score weighing in at $4,822. The Maryland native mainly plays $120-$400 buy-in tournaments.
Alsante enjoyed an impressive first half of 2024. In January, he won a $190 No-Limit Hold'em event in Chicago for $4,822, finished third in the same tournament in March for $1,978, and won a $135 buy-in event a week later for $2,115.
When the WSOP Circuit headed to Chicago in April 2024, Alsante finished 18th in the $400 Double Stack event for $1,142.
Alsante navigated his way through a pro-heavy field in the $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em event at the 2024 WSOP.
